Here's what the humans have to say about me:
URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED – WANDA
Wanda’s story is a heartbreaking one. She was found in a field beside her deceased husky companion and would not leave his side. Despite everything she had endured, Wanda remained gentle and trusting.
She was taken to a veterinary hospital, where she was examined, cleared medically, and brought fully up to date on vaccinations. She initially went back with the finder as a temporary foster, but while outside on a tether for a potty break, Wanda panicked, broke free, and was missing overnight. She was thankfully recovered the next day in a nearby field.
Wanda is now safe at Jerome Animal Shelter, but she urgently needs a foster home or adopter so she does not have to remain in a kennel environment. She has already been through significant trauma and would do best in a calm, secure home where she can decompress and feel safe.
Wanda is shy and timid, and so far has shown to be okay with other dogs, children, and cats.
About Wanda:
Approximate age: 4 years
Female
Possible Kelpie / Shepherd / Husky mix
Gentle, loyal, and clearly bonded to people once she feels secure
Wanda has already lost so much. She deserves a soft place to land and someone willing to give her the stability she’s been missing.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise. Due to recent website issues please submit application at www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.net if the .com link provided does not work
