Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wanda has already endured more loss than any dog should. She was found lying in a field beside her deceased companion—a beautiful white Husky—and she refused to leave his side. Even in the face of that heartbreak, Wanda remained gentle, quiet, and trusting toward the people who came to help her.
When Wanda entered care, she was evaluated by a veterinarian due to an occasional limp. Her leg pain appears to be related to an older knee injury with a small amount of arthritis, which can flare up in cold weather. Most of the time, Wanda is comfortable and mobile and does not let it slow her down.
Wanda is currently with her foster but she needs a stable adoptive home where she can finally decompress and feel secure.
About Wanda:
Approximate age: 4 years
Female
Possible Kelpie / Shepherd / Husky mix
Housebroken
Good with dogs, cats, and children
Shy at first, but loyal and affectionate once she feels safe
Wanda is a sensitive soul who bonds deeply with people when given patience and consistency. What she needs most now is a calm home and someone willing to give her the time and reassurance she has been missing.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise. Due to recent website issues please submit application at www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.net if the .com link provided does not work
