My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ghost – The Gentle White Soul Who’s Learned to Love Again

Once a spirited, vocal boy who barked at everything and everyone, Ghost has grown into a calm, loving senior who has come such a long way. Now around 6 years old, this beautiful white Pitbull mix has learned that the world isn’t so scary after all — and that love doesn’t always need words (or sound).

Ghost is deaf, and that’s shaped both his challenges and his charm. Because he can’t hear other dogs’ cues — or always send his own clearly — he sometimes misreads doggy body language, which can lead to brief misunderstandings. For that reason, Ghost would do best as an only pet or with a very calm, understanding dog companion who respects his space.

These days, Ghost enjoys a peaceful life filled with simple joys:

Car rides (he loves the motion and the view)

Toys he can toss around or carry proudly

Lounging quietly near his people

Bonding deeply with those who earn his trust — his foster dad is his best friend, and that bond shows just how much love this boy has to give

Ghost has truly mellowed with time and care, turning from anxious to affectionate. His foster describes him as sweet, loyal, and gentle, once he feels secure.

Update: Ghost did amazing at a recent adoption event. He was calm and interacted well with other dogs. He has come a long way. He is beautiful and amazing.

Special Note:
Ghost is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines.
And thanks to his guardian angels, his adoption comes with an incredible gift:

6 free courtesy training sessions with A Pawsitive Alternative Dog Training (Paul Kline) for adopters in the Treasure Valley

A beautiful custom painting of Ghost, donated by one of his biggest fans, will go home with his adopter

Ghost is ready to find his forever person — someone patient, kind, and understanding of a dog who listens with his heart instead of his ears.

Additional adoption info

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise. Due to recent website issues please submit application at www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.net if the .com link provided does not work
