These two tiny pups truly lived up to their names from the very beginning. Surprise (the boy) and Twist (the girl) are the last two remaining babies from an unexpected litter born to sweet mama Mabel — a litter no one saw coming.
Mabel arrived to us from a Charleston shelter after being found as a stray. Despite multiple vet visits, her pregnancy went completely unnoticed, and she somehow flew entirely under the radar. Then, one day, she shocked everyone by giving birth to the most incredible little babies. Thrown into motherhood overnight, Mabel figured it out beautifully with the help of a loving foster home that supported her every step of the way. Once her babies were weaned, Mabel went right back to the forever family that had been patiently waiting for her — the ending she always deserved. 💕
Her babies, however, are still writing their stories.
Now almost 9 weeks old, Surprise and Twist are two of the very last littermates left. All of their siblings have headed off to their forever homes, leaving these two teeny-tiny souls still hoping their people are out there. They are Chihuahua mixes (mom was not 100% Chi), and even while pregnant, Mabel only weighed about 30 pounds — so we expect these babies to stay small, likely under 25 pounds fully grown. Right now, they truly fit in the palm of your hand.
What they lack in size, they more than make up for in personality. These pups are incredibly well-socialized, confident, cuddly, playful, and endlessly sweet. They’ve been raised with love, handled often, and set up for success from day one. They adore people, love to snuggle, and are ready to bring joy, laughter, and puppy kisses into their future homes.
Surprise and Twist didn’t plan on entering the world the way they did — but they’re here, they’re thriving, and they’re beyond ready for their happily ever after. Could that be with you? 🐶✨💛

We are a small foster based animal rescue located in North Charleston, SC. We pull dogs from rural shelters in South Carolina that would otherwise have no way out. We provide them with a safe, loving home, where we learn more about the pet and what their needs are. Once they have been fully vetted and we know their personality, we match them with their perfect family where the pet will know nothing but love going forward!
