Meet Hooch — The Big Softie With an Even Bigger Heart! Hooch is a lovable, drooly, wonderfully goofy boy who’s ready to find a family that sees the gentle soul beneath his tough-guy name. He seems to be potty trained and uses a doggy door like a pro — not a single accident when he went on a foster sleepover! This sweet guy is still learning that indoor life is safe and comforting. He can be nervous about coming inside and may need a little patience and reassurance as he builds confidence. But once he warms up, his soft feet and softer heart will win you over. Hooch got along great with all the dogs at his temporary foster’s home, (6 dogs with ranging personalities and quirks!) and he’s been wonderful with kids and people he has met too. He loves having buddies around! One thing to know: Hooch is terrified of riding in cars and will try to jump out, so he’ll need secure, safe transport and a family that understands his fear and will comfort him through it. He’s also a delightfully messy eater (and proudly drooly!), and he can get excited on walks and pull a bit on leash — nothing some training and consistency won’t smooth out. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who just needs a gentle, understanding home to truly blossom, Hooch is your guy.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from West Valley City/Taylorsville Animal Services! We would love for you to come to the shelter and meet your new family member.
You can come to the shelter Monday through Friday between 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and walk through to see the animals we have available for adoption.
Please keep in mind that adoptions are first come, first serve. We often have a few pets that would make a good match for each family, so if the animal you are interested in is no longer available, you can still come in and meet some animals to see if there's a good fit.
You can see all of our animals at www.wvcpets.com [wvcpets.com]
