Meet Daphne! She is a 5-year-old, 40-pound Blue Heeler and Border Collie mix with a big love for life and the energy of a puppy. She is a huge hugger, loves to show off her smiles, and thrives when she gets plenty of cuddles and attention.
Daphne previously lived as an outdoor dog and was trained to a wire fence. Because of this, we think training her to a property line would be a breeze! She has already shown us that she knows `sit` and is very clean in her kennel, suggesting that she`ll have the hang of potty training in a home.
Daphne previously lived with small children and did quite well with them! She can be a bit reactive toward other dogs, however. She sometimes gets jealous of other pups receiving attention, or simply gets a little too excitable when she sees a new friend. For this reason, we require a meet and greet with any dogs you currently have at home. Daphne is a wonderful girl who will truly love you with her whole heart!
Daphney is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Cat and Dog survey may be filled out online at babinskifoundation.org, or in person at the facility.

The staff will review your application! Please bring all necessary documents such as pet lease agreements signed by your landlord.

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
