Lyra is a laid-back lovebug searching for her forever family to cozy up with. This certified couch potato adores snuggling and snoozing—just pardon her adorable snoring! But don’t let her chill vibe fool you—Lyra is anything but boring. When she’s not napping, she loves car rides, exploring the great outdoors, and chewing on her favorite toys.

Lyra is wonderfully social and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes (her current BFF is a Great Dane!). She greets new dogs politely with a sniff and happily joins in if they want to play. If not, she respectfully moves on to find another buddy. She’s also been around kids ages 7 and 9 and was sweet and gentle with them. Cats? No problem—Lyra lived with felines in foster care and did great.

Lyra's manners will impress you! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has earned furniture privileges thanks to her good behavior. She loves her daily strolls and on leash, she’s a dream—aside from a little happy weaving when saying hello.

Are you looking for the ultimate couch companion? Lyra is eager to claim her cushion in her forever home!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
