My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Leela – Your Big-Hearted, Wiggly Companion!

Leela is a 6-year-old, 45-pound pitbull terrier who has no idea she’s not a tiny lap dog . This spayed sweetheart is a playful little bulldozer with a goofy grin and a heart overflowing with love.

She’s dog-friendly, but she’ll do best with a pup who can keep up with her fun, bouncy energy. Leela is currently working on her potty training and is already crate trained, so she’s well on her way to being the perfect housemate.

Leela hasn’t met cats or children yet, so a home willing to introduce her slowly—or one without either—would be ideal.

What Leela wants most? To love and be loved. She’ll follow you with big, soulful eyes, lean into your hugs, and show you every day how grateful she is to have a family of her own.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a silly streak and endless affection, Leela is your girl.

More about this rescue

Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 dog rescue organization and completely foster-based in the Western New York area. We pull dogs and puppies from high-kill rescues all over the country that are on lists to be euthanized. We place them in foster homes until they find their furever homes here in WNY. Every dog that is saved opens up room for another. So in essence two dogs lives are being saved!!
