**Wandoo is currently in LA waiting for his forever family.
Background
Wandoo and his brother were rescued this spring from a city pound in Milyang, Korea as part of our Save 100 Dogs campaign. They lived with other dogs at our boarding house. In November, Wandoo was adopted by a loving family in LA. Sadly, his adopter developed a severe dog allergy, so through no fault of his own, Wandoo had to be relocated. The last few weeks have been hard for him. He traveled across the world, was separated from his brother and friends, and then had to move homes again. Currently, Wandoo is living in a foster home in LA while he waits for his forever home.
Personality and Socialization
Wandoo is a gentle and sweet boy with a very loving heart. He has a medium energy level and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to play with and cuddle beside.
At his current foster home, he spends long hours alone, and it has been a lot for his sensitive heart. Because of this, he can seem cautious and nervous at first. When he meets new people, he is curious but shy. He likes to take a little time to feel safe. Once he trusts you, his true personality shines through and he becomes affectionate, playful, and very loving.
Behaviour
Wandoo is a smart and friendly boy. He can feel a little nervous during car rides, bath time, or grooming, but he stays patient and allows his people to care for him. He is learning to walk on leash. When he sees his harness, he sometimes runs to his crate and hides, but eventually allows it to be put on. Once outside, he enjoys his walks. Sometimes he gets curious and wants to stop and explore, but overall he follows his person well.
He loves toys, especially squeaky ones, and is happiest when he feels safe and loved. He has been left alone for long hours in an apartment and has been quiet. If needed, he has used puppy pads, but lately he prefers going potty outside. He may bark briefly at unfamiliar noises or when someone walks by the apartment, but he settles quickly. Even though he is quiet and independent, he is lonely and needs companionship, both human and canine.
Health and Diet
Wandoo is in good health. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble and has no known allergies or special dietary needs.
Ideal Home
Wandoo is a sweet, smart, and loyal boy who is still adjusting to a new country and many changes. He needs a patient and confident family, preferably with dog experience, who can help him feel safe and understood.
We would prefer a family who does not leave their dog alone for long hours. Although Wandoo has been incredibly well behaved and has caused no trouble when left alone, this little boy is likely feeling lonely. We dream of a home where his family can be around him often, helping him build confidence, and trust. Wandoo does not need perfection. He just needs someone to give him a chance, and in return he will give you his whole heart.

Free Korean Dogs is a registered charity founded in 2015 with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever-loving homes for dogs saved from the Korean dog meat trade.
We divide our mission across three basic pillars: rescue, adopt, and engage. Since 2015, we’ve made huge advances in all three areas, shutting down three dog meat farm operations, facilitating the adoption of 1,800 rescue dogs, and launching Freedom Walk, our annual event to raise public awareness about the Korean dog meat trade:
RESCUE
Our organization has made significant strides in rescuing dogs from the dog meat trade, high-kill shelters and other high-risk conditions in Korea. We shut down dog meat farms and liberated over 500 dogs from unbearable suffering and despair.
ADOPT
Through our unwavering commitment, we have found forever-loving homes for more than 1,800 dogs rescued from brutal circumstances. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals and find them a new life filled with love and care.
ENGAGE
Our mission extends beyond rescue and adoption; we are dedicated to building a compassionate community. Through educational campaigns and events, we engage with individuals and organizations to create a cultural shift from cruelty to compassion.
