My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You are in for a treat! 🍧 🍰 🍭

The dictionary defines a treat as “an especially unexpected source of joy, delight, or amusement.” We’ll go ahead and put Max’s picture right next to that definition 🐕

He’s a quiet, calm 13-year-old German Shepherd/Chihuahua mix who weighs 35 lbs. Max is very playful and certainly very snuggly as well, and he’s just the kind of lovable companion that you want by your side, day in and day out.

Max is friendly with all people and good with kids; he also plays well with other dogs. He knows sit, lay down and shake and is a polite gentleman around the house. He is more energetic than you’d picture a dog his age to be, and he enjoys life to the fullest – which will serve as your reminder to do the same. He rarely barks, only if he hears an unfamiliar sound.

Treat 🍧 🍰 🍭 yourself to a wonderful dog!

Max is house trained and crate trained, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We also have him current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $100. To meet him, apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Go meet their pets

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.

What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.

Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.

More about this rescue

Pawsitive Tails strives to be something different in the animal adoption community. We simply want to help dogs and puppies find new homes by matching the right dog to the right family.

Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility - all the dogs in our program live in foster homes.
