Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This 1-year-old female black Lab mix may be from Louisiana, but her sparkling personality is pure California vibes. Miss Cali Girl brings joy everywhere she goes. Whether she’s playing, cuddling, or zooming around the yard, she radiates happiness and has a magical way of making even the toughest days brighter.
Cali thrives in the company of people and other dogs—she truly believes everything is more fun when shared. High-energy and always up for a good time, she loves toys, playdates, and turning the simplest moments into a party. A true zoomie queen, she’ll delight you with her silly, happy runs both indoors and out.
She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and would make an excellent playmate. Cats, however, are a bit too exciting for her right now, so a cat-free home is best. Cali is still learning her manners—especially keeping all four paws on the floor when saying hello—but she’s eager to learn and is otherwise fantastic with children.
This smart girl is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to the right home.
If you’re looking for a sparkly-spirited, fun-loving partner to add sunshine to your life, Cali is your girl!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
