Our holiday hero Rebel, the sweetest, chunkiest, most people-loving 4 year old English Bulldog you’ll ever meet! This handsome squish is on the hunt for his forever home, and trust us… whoever scoops him up is getting the best Christmas gift ever.
Rebel is EXTREMELY people-friendly — like, “I-love-you-before-you-even-say-hello” friendly. He adores every human he meets and soaks up attention like a sponge. Because he is absolutely obsessed with his people, Rebel has made one thing very clear: 👉 He does NOT share. This king of cuddles wants to be your one and only! No other dogs, no cats… just Rebel and his humans living their best life.
💪 A Few Important Rebel Facts: • Don’t be fooled by those adorable bulldog rolls — Rebel is incredibly strong! • He will need a secure, sturdy fence for yard time, OR a strong, confident handler if he’ll be leash walked. • He’s also housebroken, crate trained, and knows multiple commands — this boy is as well-mannered as he is adorable!
His adoption fee is $500, and here’s why: English Bulldogs are a high-demand breed, and amazing dogs like Rebel help us keep ALL other adoption fees completely waived this month! 🎁🐾 Because of Christmas heroes like Rebel, every other dog, puppy, cat, and kitten can go home for free, helping even more animals find the loving homes they deserve.
If you’re ready for a loyal, goofy, snorty, cuddle-bug who will make every day feel like Christmas morning… 🎅 Come meet Rebel! Your one-and-only might be waiting for you right nowPuppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00. The adoption fee may be higher or lower than stated however, and is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run discount specials and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee.
Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an "Adopt one, bring another one home for free" adoption special!

More about this shelter
The Yancey Humane Society & Animal Shelter is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, just 30 miles northeast of Asheville. We take all animals brought to us: strays, ferals, dogs, cats, and also, personal pets on a case by case basis. We provide a loving temporary home until they can be placed in a permanent home. We are not a "no kill" shelter, however, we do not euthanise for time nor space. We treat all animals as individuals and temperament test them for adoptability. This way, no one slips through the system, and we know each and every personality in the house. So, if you are looking for a pet, we can help match you with the perfect friend who will fit your lifestyle.
