My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tilly is a senior tabby sweetheart who has found herself looking for a new home after her previous owner had to move into a care facility. She's a gentle soul who can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but with some patient pets, a calm voice, and tasty food, she soon shows her affectionate and loving side.

Tilly has a slight head tilt that doesn't slow her down, but she does prefer not to be picked up. She'd much rather come to you on her own terms-and she will, especially when she's feeling chatty. This lovely girl isn't afraid to speak up when she wants attention or company!

She's best suited to an indoor-only home with a quiet lifestyle, as loud noises can frighten her. Tilly has lived with other cats before, so sharing her space with another gentle feline friend should be just fine.

If you're looking for a calm, loving companion who will reward your patience with trust and soft affection, Tilly might be the perfect match. She's ready to settle into a peaceful home where she can feel safe, loved, and heard.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
