My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bon Bon is a sweet, tabby lady with lots to say and lots of love to give. This outgoing cat can't wait to find her fur-ever family after she and another cat were brought to the SPCA, left behind when their owners moved away. Bon Bon is curious and ready to explore her new home, plus seems to love pets but isn't really a fan of being picked up. She has her opinions on how things should certainly be. Bon Bon can be quite chatty, letting you know when she wants something, whether that be more pets and attention or a tasty snack. Bon Bon has lived with another cat before but we're not sure about dogs or children. With any animals or kids in her new home it is important to have slow, proper introductions to ensure success and she probably would do best without young children in the home. Bon Bon is sweet but she also has a little sassy side and will give your leg a swat when she feels neglected or you almost trip over her because she's following you around. Overall Bon Bon seems like a friendly cat who will make a attentive and loving companion. Will she be in your home for the holidays?

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
