***LOCAL ADOPTER (within 50 miles of Apex, NC) NEEDED! This dog is heartworm positive and needs to complete his treatment at our partner vet in Apex!***
Hi I’m Wilbur, a 3-year-old 60lbs yellow lab mix ready to be your best friend! I am a gentle, goofy boy that loves all people and dogs.
I’m cute like a puppy but you don’t have to worry about puppy shenanigans – I’m housebroken and only chew on my toys. Foster mom crates me when she goes to work, but otherwise I get to roam the house and sleep in a doggy bed at night. She tried letting me sleep in bed one night but said I was too snuggly – what else are you supposed to do in a cozy bed?
I’m the perfect age – still playful but I know how to settle down and play quietly. I love going on walks, meeting new friends and playing fetch, but am content playing with my toys or looking out the window if no one wants to play with me. Sometimes the resident dog will play chase with me (which I LOVE!) but he usually likes to sleep, and I’m
respectful of this.
I walk well on a leash but sometimes pull a little bit when I see new doggy friends. Using a front clip harness has helped a lot. They say I’m a pretty good dog overall but could work on refining my manners.
Foster mom says I should be fun to train – my favorite treat is kibble and I will follow your hand anywhere for a treat.
I am up-to-date on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped. I’m currently getting treated for heartworm, but am almost done (yay!) Peak Lab will take care of this with one of their veterinary partners.
