Meet Ruger!
Ruger is a gentle, easygoing sweetheart who loves cuddles, car rides, and being near his people. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and did great with visiting children (7+). Ruger is crate-trained and eager to please, but he’s still building confidence and may have occasional indoor accidents when anxious—something that improves with routine and reassurance. He’s affectionate, well-mannered, and ready to give his whole heart to a patient family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly, Ruger is your boy.

We do not transport dogs. All dogs must be picked up from Northern VA in person by the adopter.

More about this rescue

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
