Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Picasso isn’t your typical puppy. At first, he can be shy and unsure, but with patience and kindness, he slowly begins to trust. And once he does? That’s when his true colors shine, revealing a beautiful rainbow of sweetness, love, and gentle charm. This sensitive boy absolutely loves spending time with other dogs. Romping, roughhousing in the play yard, and taking the occasional splash in the pool are some of his favorite ways to have fun. His canine friends help boost his confidence and show him that the world isn’t such a scary place. Picasso is very treat-motivated, snacks are definitely the fastest way to his heart and a good toy or two will help him relax and let his playful side come out. With a patient family willing to give him the time, space, and understanding he needs, Picasso will blossom into a loyal, loving companion whose bright and vibrant personality is truly a work of art.

More about this shelter
Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
