My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sumi!

Sumi is a sweet, curious girl with a soft, quiet meow and an adorable pink nose. She can take a little time to settle into a new environment, but once she feels safe, her affectionate side shines. She's always eager for pets and absolutely loves head scratches.

Sumi has previously lived with other cats, dogs, and children, and she would likely do well in a home with any of them given a thoughtful, slow introduction. She has a very gentle personality and can be quite chatty once she's comfortable, often offering soft meows to let you know she's happy to be near you.

If you're looking for a loving companion who blossoms beautifully with a bit of time and care, Sumi might be the perfect addition to your family.

Stop by the West Vancouver location to meet Sumi in person. Our adoption hours are 12-3pm, Tuesdays through Sundays (Closed Mondays)

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
