Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Twinkle Toes! Twinkle Toes is a 6-year-old, 45-pound sweetheart looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly shine. She may be a little sensitive at first, especially in new situations, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate and gentle personality comes through.
Because she can be easily overwhelmed, Twinkle Toes is looking for a family with kids 13 and older who can give her the space and patience she needs to settle in. She’s very loving with the people she trusts and enjoys being a part of a quiet, steady household.
When it comes to meeting other dogs, Twinkle Toes prefers a slow, thoughtful introduction. She can be nervous around new canine friends, so she’ll do best with a respectful, calm dog who understands her pace.
If you’re looking for a loyal, tender-hearted companion who will reward your patience with lots of love, Twinkle Toes may be the perfect fit. Come meet her at the Humane Society of Summit County!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
