Y'all...when I say Peanut Buttercup had people he has never met before fawning over him and had them all placing bets on who was going to take him home. Please believe it because it is not an exaggeration. From his adorable squishy face to his top notch personality, it's hard to not be immediately obsessed. Run, don't walk and adopt this lovable hunk because he won't be available for long.
Watch his video and you'll be just as obsessed with him as we are: https://youtu.be/mso4cDR30xA?si=4PKpsVTsXbqgwTYp
Peanut Buttercup is a Bully mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 71 lbs. He's built like a tonka truck but squishy and sweet like a twinkie. He is a rescue dog an with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Peanut is very dog friendly and he has done great with all the dogs that we have introduced him to big and small. He is not a super playful guy. He is more of a chill and laid-back fella just happy to be included. For the most part, he’s either off exploring doing his own thing, love bombing the people that are around, or he’s having a full-blown make out session with one of his doggy girlfriends LOL. He’s a big kisser. When he met a teeny tiny Frenchie gal, he went in with kisses at the ready and attempted to swoop in for a full blown smooch fest and he got in a few kisses before she hit him with a, “SIR!! Please remove your XXL lips from my cute petite face.” Poor Peanut got rejected and his heart was shattered, but as we all know, his love is hard to resist. Next thing you know, she allowed him to plant one kiss, maybe two, just don't get weird about it LOL. In a home he would do great with dogs his size or smaller. He’ll love it if his doggy girlfriend accepts his kisses, cuddles, and isn’t wanting to play all the time. He just can’t keep up and he would much rather enjoy watching the sunset together relaxing on the porch.
If you don’t have other dogs, that is fine too. Peanut loves everyone and he has enough love in his bones equivalent to 3 dogs combined. He also does not need the company of another dog to fulfill his energy needs. Peanut is a happy medium energy chill guy that does not require a whole lot of exercise. When it comes to cats, he’ll give them those XXL kisses just like he does with dogs LOL. We do not know if Peanut has ever lived in a home with a cat nor can we guarantee that things won't change once in the home. We do believe with slow and proper introductions that he has the potential to live harmoniously with a cat in the home. We just hope they will love or at least tolerate his kisses.
When it comes to training and treats, this boy is smart and loves all treats. He didn't get all that squish out of nowhere nor does he miss a meal. He'll do anything for a tasty snack and will also sit so patiently waiting for his treat. Just be prepared for those XXL lips to fully slobber your fingers LOL. On the bright side, he'll be sure to clean your fingers thoroughly and to never leave a crumb behind. You would think with a dog his size, he would pull like a freight train on leash but that's not the case with Peanut. He is very easy to walk on a leash, even when he's tandem walking next to another dog. He hardly ever pulls and if he does, it doesn't take much of a correction to get him to walk like a gentleman again. He has also shown to have great house manners and is crate trained too. He's a 10/10 good boy.
Peanut would love to be in a home with a backyard where he can sunbathe anytime he wants, roll in the grass, and explore all the fun smells. We could also even see him being good in an apartment. He is quiet in his crate, walks so incredibly easy on a leash, and wouldn't be bothered passing by other dogs in those smaller apartment hallways. Every time I see him in his kennel, this big boy is sprawled out side ways in the most relaxed state LOL. It makes me smile every time. He'll be a great work from home buddy, lazy Sunday movie marathon date, and an easy going companion to take with you on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. He's a simple man that doesn't require much to make him happy.
We are willing to test Peanut Buttercup with anything you need to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
