My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet beautiful Bella! Bella was surrendered to the shelter with her sister Michaela when their owner experienced health issues and could no longer care for them. These sweet girls have become shelter favorites with their goofy antics and gentle personalities. They are both sweet, tolerant, and great with handlers! These girls are looking for a safe place to live out their golden years after losing their home of 9 years.

Meet Bella at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm!

Behavior Notes:

Per Volunteer 11/26/25: Such a sweet girl! She gently tried to push out with her head when I approached and then easily allowed me to leash. She’s quite gentle even though she’s a big girl! Showed me that she knows. Very social and solicited pets from new handlers in the volunteer office. A little jumpy at times as she solicits attention. Gentle with taking food and no issues returning to kennel or unleashing

Behavior eval 11/22/2025
Kennel Presentation: Bella met me at the front of her kennel with soft eyes and a low, wagging tail. She stood patiently waiting to be leashed
Leash Skills: Minimal to no pulling. Walks nicely on leash, went to the bathroom quickly upon getting outside.
Sociability: Sniffed around outside, soliciting some attention briefly from handler. Once we got into the vol office, she was very social with handlers, jumping up for treats and pets and remaining loose and wiggly.
Play: N/A
Dog Interaction: Great with her sister (loose and comfortable with each other). While outside, we saw another dog from afar and Bella got full back hackles, hard barking and pulling hard toward the dog until we were out of sight.
Return to Kennel: Walked right in, no issues unleashing
Color Level: Gold
Recommendations and considerations:

Per owner 11/20/25 (Surrendered after 9 years along with Michaela due to owner's health problems): The owner recommended that both dogs stay together. Fully housebroken, crate trained, medium energy, knows commands: yes, sit, lay down. Enjoys rope toys. Great with children, good with strangers, okay with cats and dogs. Owner recommended a "good family"
