My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boris

Lexington, KY

HERE HE IS!   Boris will very make his presence VERY known when he arrives!

Boris is a cute as a button, but is a VERY confident, bold, and 110% cattle brat pup!   At about 10 weeks old, his 14 lb solid self is ready to find his forever home!   Boris is NOT for the faint of heart!   He is a puppy that while adorable he is going to challenge other dogs and humans.   His confidence will need to be handled with experienced cattle dog owners.   He is extremely food motivated, wicked smart, picks up on basic commands / tricks very quickly.  He will likely do well in dog sports, or in working dog home.  While Boris is a typical “mouthy” cattle dog pup, he is responding well to correction.   He does “herd” ankles so a home with young kids would be very very challenging.   He wants to please, loves fetch, tug, all toys and bones.

He is doing well with crate and potty training but will need ongoing training as he is so young.  He will need structure, a schedule and puppy classes are highly recommended.    Boris is UTD on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives.   He will be adopted out with a neuter contract.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
