This helps San Diego Humane Society - Oceanside Campus (Cats and Small Animals) with pet care costs.
How this pet arrived:
Shilo was brought in by his previous owner on December 6, 2025.
Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Shilo, a charming and affectionate boy who is ready to find his home. Shilo is very social, inquisitive, and active-he loves to explore, play, and follow his people from room to room. Shilo can become overstimulated, especially with too much handling. In his previous home, he displayed overstimulated and possibly fearful behavior toward young children, so he will need a home without young kids. Overstimulation in cats can look like sudden swatting, nipping, skin rippling, or a quick shift from enjoying petting to wanting it to stop. Shilo has a limit to how much touch or activity he's comfortable with at one time. With a patient, cat-savvy adopter who can read his body language and respect his boundaries, he can truly thrive. Shilo will need a quiet, safe space to acclimate when he first comes home-such as a spare room or a cozy corner with a hiding spot, litter box, food, water, and a soft bed. Letting him settle in at his own pace, while offering gentle interaction and play, will help him feel secure and build trust. If you're looking for an interactive companion and can offer Shilo a calm home where he is the center of attention, he will reward you with curiosity, companionship, and plenty of affection.
Overstimulated Cat: Shilo requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
