Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I’m Travis, and being without a home has made me very, very sad.
I’m only about two years old, but since coming to the shelter last November, my world has felt small and heavy. Most days, you’ll find me curled tightly in my little donut bed, blankets tucked all around me like they’re trying to hold my heart together.
I don’t get up when people walk by, or reach out, or ask for attention. It’s not because I don’t want love—I’ve just been feeling so low. So I stay still, wait quietly, and hope someone will notice me anyway… though lately, that hope feels harder to hold onto.
I came here because my family had too many animals and wanted something better for me. They hoped I’d find a home where I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed and where I could truly flourish.
So, this is what I wish people knew about me: if you sit with me, reach out slowly, and touch me with care, something changes. I lift my head just a little so that I can lean into your hand. A soft, steady purr slips out of me, like it’s been waiting all this time for permission. It’s my way of saying, I’m still here. I still know how to love.
Under the blankets, I am deeply sweet, gentle, and affectionate. I just need someone patient enough to look past my stillness and understand that my heart is open, even if it’s aching for a place to belong.
I don’t need much. I don’t need noise or excitement. I need a peaceful home, a soothing voice, and someone who will sit with me as I begin to feel how wonderful is it to be part of a forever family.
