This helps Prattville/Autauga Humane Society with pet care costs.
Lucy is a 10-year-old female ShiChi (ShihTzu/Chinuahua) mix who has already been spayed. She was turned in by her owner's family after her owner passed away. Lucy is understandably confused about being in a shelter. She has a long coat that is white with brown markings; and she is a very pretty girl. Lucy only weighs10-12 pounds so she is a small dog. She is good with small dogs, loves men, and loves car rides. We don't think she would do well in a home with children because she doesn't like sudden movements or loud noises. Lucy has been a bit 'nippy' with some of our staff but we believe it is because she is just so afraid in her new surroundings. We think Lucy would make an excellent companion for an elderly adopter. She is going to bond quickly with whoever shows her kindness and love. This is a very loving little dog who has just been through a lot in the last few weeks.
Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
