Name: Rusty
DOB: 10/20/2025
Breed: Husky/Border Collie Mix
Sex: Male
Weight: ~3 lbs
Location: Orchard Park
Date Available: 12/16/2025
Meet Rusty! He is a sweet boy with a vibrant personality and a curious nature. This playful little guy loves to chat and isn’t shy about expressing his feelings—especially when he thinks it's time for some fun, often communicating through his charming puppy howl. He loves to be held, gives great puppy kisses and is a pro cuddler!
Rusty enjoys being close to his people and thrives in the company of other dogs. Having a furry sibling around can help him feel even more comfortable in his new environment. While he is good in his crate and does well in his pen, Rusty prefers to spend quality time with his family rather than being left alone for extended periods.
Rusty’s favorite things are his stuffies, chasing the ball around, and exploring the new world around him. He is discovering the joys of yummy treats, which will be helpful in training. Rusty is in the process of potty training and is using pee pads at this time, given he is still just a little dude. He’ll need a family that is patient and can maintain a consistent training schedule, especially when he is introduced to outdoor adventures.
Rusty is not shy around people, including kids in his foster home. He hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, but given his friendly demeanor we’re confident with the right introductions he’ll do well.
He’s expected to be an energetic dog and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, where he can run and play safely. He would also benefit from a family that enjoys being active.
If you’re looking for a loving companion who is ready to learn and grow with you, Rusty might just be the perfect match! Consider giving him the forever home he deserves.
If you’re interested in adopting Rusty, please apply at www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue if you’re already pre-approved!
