Mr. Darcy is a 1 year old Goldendoodle who was found as a stray near a local hotel and entered the shelter afraid, wondering why he was here. Once he feels comfortable, he becomes the most loyal shadow you could ask for. He’ll follow you around the house, lean in for pets, and soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. We are seeking an experienced home for Mr. Darcy who will offer calm reassurance, consistency, and let him build confidence at his own pace. He would do best in a home without young children that understands sensitive pups and is ready to help him continue growing into the loving, snuggly companion he’s meant to be. Established in 1999, The Shelter Connection is a 501c3 volunteer organization at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter. Our mission, in partnership with the Town, is to improve the quality of life for the dogs at the shelter and increase adoptions through training and socialization.
