Smokey says "Only YOU can prevent Forest Fires!" Meet Smokey, our Bear! Smokey joined the rescue this week with his brother Baloo, product of an unwanted litter, but good news mom and dad are in the process of being altered so no more accidental litters!

Smokey is still too young to go to his forever home for a few weeks, however you can apply now and arrange adoption for when they are old enough! Smokey is a Shih Tzu pup, tiny, sweet and affectionate. This Smokey will be out breaking hearts in no time.

If you know Shih Tzus, oh my, the most adorable, affectionate, smart and loyal couch companions.

Smokey will receive his first vaccinations and Microchip included in his adoption donation.

Smokey will be adopted with a Contract and Deposit to ensure neuter by 6 months of age.

1.
Submit Application

Please submit an application to express your interest in a dog. We will do our best to respond quickly, please be patient

2.
Home Check

This will be a virtual review of your home and time to check references.

3.
Interview

You will have a phone interview to discuss your questions, information about the dog, and best dog for your exact situation.

4.
Approve Application

This will occur after the above steps and positive phone interview.

5.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet will be scheduled. If everything is as expected, we plan on the dog going home with you from this meeting.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

Must be completed at or prior to the meet and greet to result in an adoption.

7.
Pay Fee

Then take pet home and live happily ever after together!

More about this rescue

We are a committed group of dog lovers who have decades of experience in dog rescue, volunteering at animal shelters and owning rescue dogs. Most recently, our two founders, have been working with rescuing dogs from Mexico and the Asian dog meat trade as well as California kill shelters, Midwest puppy mill breeder releases and rehoming owner surrendered dogs in Washington and Oregon.

Deciding that we are able to rescue more by combining forces, Pacific Rim Rescue was formed. Our mission is to rescue dogs from devastating conditions from countries of the Pacific Rim.

We are committed to providing foster homes, veterinary and behavioral training for these dogs, so that they may live happy and fulfilling lives in their forever homes.
