Meet Ambient! Ambient is a friendly and sweet girl who greets the world with lots of happy tail wags. She has the cutest face and a truly sweet, affectionate nature. Ambient loves pets and attention and is always eager to soak up affection from her people. Ambient is very treat-motivated and has a great “sit,” and is working on “stay” and “down,” happily showing off for snacks. She’ll even hop up on a bench so you can give her some extra love. She comes out of the kennel ready to go and excited for her walk. Overall, she does well on the leash, though she may pull a bit when she gets excited.
Ambient is 4 years old, weighs 43 pounds, and appears to be housebroken. She is already altered, which means she’s ready to go home today! With her gentle demeanor, affectionate personality, and love of people, Ambient is a wonderful girl who can’t wait to find her forever home.
Ambient has enjoyed a few Dog’s Day Out adventures with volunteers, and showed just how special she is outside the shelter. She is incredibly sweet, attentive, and eager to please. Ambient already knows sit and impressed everyone by learning stay in just one day—a true testament to how smart and responsive she is. She walks very well on a leash, is highly treat-motivated, and listens closely to her handler, making her a joy to work with. Ambient also appears to be house-trained and did great riding in the car, settling in easily and enjoying the ride. She’s very polite in the home, and didn’t get into anything that wasn’t hers. She’s a complete cuddle bug, and is happy to spend the day lounging and snoozing while you work.
Ambient would be a wonderful match for an adopter looking for a well-mannered, affectionate dog who’s ready to be a loving companion and continue learning in a home environment.
Ambient has met other dogs at the shelter, she can be a little avoidant and does best with polite friends. She will need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. She is eligible to come back to BARCS for social sessions.

When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.
