My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chowder, with his olde English beard, square jaw and intelligent eyes, is positively Dickensian, and so, dear readers, is his past. Brought to safety after years on the streets, this handsome terrier is a gentle hero whose trust in humans, dogs and cats is an inspiration. He is kindly, fit, up for a walk and happy to hang. Shy as a stray, he is friendly and curious among caring friends and loves a comfy dog bed and gentle affection. Think Oliver Twist with scruff and a charming underbite. Make your forever home the perfect setting for his happily ever after.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Please submit an adoption questionnaire for the mutt(s) you are interested in. We will be in touch within 24 hours to connect!

2.

Meet the Pet

If you know who you're interested in, we'll arrange a meeting in person or virtually. If you're still browsing, come to an adoption event!

3.

Take the Pet Home

If you'd like to adopt we have a short finalization process and then you get to take your new dog home!

Additional adoption info

All of our senior mutts are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given flea/tick/dewormer medication. Regular adoptions are typically $250, and there is no adoption fee for senior adopters and Hospice adoptions, though we love donations to help pay it forward for the next mutt!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

If you know who you're interested in, fill out our questionnaire at muttville.org/how_to_adopt and we'll arrange a meeting either at our HQ or virtually with your mutt's foster parent. (Many of our lucky mutts live in foster homes!)

If you're still browsing, stop by our extraordinary new home at 750 Florida St. during open hours Tuesday through Sunday 11am-4pm, or come to an adoption event and meet a lot of dogs at once!
