Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you ready for endless cuddles, gentle purrs, and a cat who adores you? Kate is waiting! Kate is a gentle, affectionate girl who truly shines once she feels comfortable. She may start off a little reserved in new surroundings, but it doesn’t take long for her sweet personality to come through. Once she warms up, Kate happily leans into pets, purrs contentedly, and seeks out human companionship with enthusiasm.
She’s a calm, loving cat who enjoys attention and bonding time, often showing her happiness with soft head rubs, cuddles, and her endearingly raspy little meow. Kate has a nurturing soul and a very kind nature, making her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, people-focused cat.
Kate has recovered well from previous orthopedic surgery for her back knees. But with the incredible work of her vet team and plenty TLC in her foster home, she is now moving comfortably and is at the shelter looking for her forever home. To support her long-term joint health, she’ll do best staying at a healthy weight, which adopters can discuss further with their veterinarian.
If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat who forms strong connections and loves being near her people, Kate may be the perfect match.

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
