*** Currently living in Shelburne, Nova Scotia ***
Johnny Boy is truly the sweetest guy around. He’s effortlessly cool and laid-back, but the moment he spots someone he loves, his excitement bubbles over. He’ll zoom around in happy circles before racing straight to you, ready to deliver lots of puppy kisses—because in Johnny’s world, kisses make everything better!
He loves playing with other dogs and is especially obsessed with a good game of fetch. Fetch is the ultimate joy for him: chasing the ball, proudly bringing it back, and flashing that “Did you see me?” look. With his smooth, happy trot, his playful side comes out in the most charming way.
Johnny Boy is a calm, easygoing pup with joyful bursts of energy. He’d be an amazing fit for a family with a yard where he can enjoy regular fetch sessions—nothing would make him happier. His foster family says he’s very smart, already knows how to sit, and is eager to learn more. His kennel is his safe space, so he’s comfortable with it, and he absolutely loves toys, especially soft ones and chew toys. Bonus: he’s also good with cats.
And then there’s his stunning coat—beautifully speckled with flecks of brown, black, and white, and paired with an adorable face. Johnny Boy is such a good boy, patiently waiting for the perfect family to call his own.
Johnny Boy has been:
• Neutered
• Vaccinated
• Dewormed
• Microchipped
• Estimated Adult Weight: 30-45 lbs.

When animals in our care at HelpAWS become eligible for adoption, interested parties can apply for a specific animal or for a litter in general by completing the online application,
located at www.helpaws.com/adopt/. Applications are processed by our Adoptions Team, and phone interviews are scheduled with each applicant. The interview is approximately one (1) hour long. After the interview, the Adoptions Team will request photos of the applicant’s home and yard and, if applicable, will conduct a veterinarian check (for applicants with other pets) and/or two (2) reference checks from the list provided by the applicant. Once all phone interviews have been completed and photos reviewed, the Adoptions Team will either approve or deny the applicant. Approvals will be matched with a specific animal based on their lifestyle and the animal’s personality/needs and will be informed via a group chat on Facebook Messenger. The applicant will then receive a follow up email with the relevant adoption details, including the Adoption Agreement, payment expectations and flight info. The animal will then be flown to his/her appropriate destination and transferred into the care of his/her new owner(s).
