My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ricky is a handsome senior gentleman with the most adorable frosty face and a little nub tail that never stops wiggling. This sweet boy came to us after experiencing a heartbreaking loss his beloved owner passed away and Ricky is still trying to understand why the person he loved so deeply never came back. Now, hes hoping for a second chance at forever with a family who will show him that love can return.

Dont let his age fool you Ricky still loves to move, explore, and enjoy life. He adores going on walks and is always happy to hop in the car for a ride. At home, he loves his toys and will happily entertain himself, though his favorite place is right next to (or on top of) his people Ricky truly believes hes a lap dog.

Ricky has wonderful manners and an even bigger heart. He is housebroken, sleeps peacefully through the night, and isnt fussy about his meals. Because of the loss hes endured, he finds the most comfort in being close to his people. When left alone too long, he can become anxious not out of misbehavior, but because he worries the people he loves might disappear the way his owner did. A home where someone is around often, or where Ricky can tag along on daily adventures, would help his heart feel safe again.

He is friendly with other dogs and lived briefly with them in a foster home, but Ricky definitely prefers to be the center of attention. Hell gently butt in if another dog is getting love, just to make sure he hasnt been forgotten. For that reason, we think Ricky would be happiest as the only dog, soaking up all the affection hes been missing. Ricky may also do well with a submissive dog that doesn't mind sharing the attention from humans.

If youre looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will cherish every moment by your side and remind you just how special a senior dogs love can be, Ricky may be the one youve been waiting for.
