My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yeti (A133708) is a 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute who weighed 118.7 pounds on intake!

12/13/25 Mister Yeti is back at the shelter because his previous owner felt it was unfair how much time he was spending in a kennel. Yeti lives up to his name in size and color only. He is gentle giant! Yeti was described as being shy but friendly. He is said to be kennel trained and housebroken. He has been known to dig, and he was said to do well with other dogs and even cats! Yeti has also done well with kids and babies. His previous owner thought Yeti might do best with another dog friend in his next home. However, he can play very roughly, so make sure you are supervising playtime. If you are interested in this big handsome guy, please give the shelter a call!

02/26/24 This big, handsome boy is Yeti! Yeti is a large dog looking for an owner who understands his breed! Yeti was described as a shy but friendly dog. He appreciates slow and safe introductions with all new friends! Yeti warmed up quickly to the care staff at the shelter and is looking for a new family to love! He has no prior history with children and was said to smell the newborn in the home. Yeti was said to be mostly dog-friendly but does require appropriate introductions. He has no history with cats or pocket pets and was said to be fearful of livestock. Yeti was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows a variety of commands! However, he does have selective hearing at times and would benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer. In typical Malamute fashion, Yeti loves spending time outdoors and was known to enjoy digging and chewing. He is looking for an owner who will be able to keep him both mentally and physically stimulated! If you are interested in meeting Yeti and feel that he could be the right fit for you, please let us know!
