Hey there, it's Nicky! (You might remember me as Nicaragua, but all my foster families call me Nicky.) I’m an affectionate puppy who loves to play, snuggle, and be part of whatever my people are doing. I’m full of joy, love to chase toys, and think tug is the best game ever!
✅ He’s Got It!
🧑🧒🧒 Loves people — snuggles and pets are his favorite
⚽ Loves to play with toys!
🏠 Comfortable spending time in his kennel – naps up to 5 hours during the day and sleeps through the night (about 8 hours!)
🪑 Learning to Sit to get attention
🥳 Playful and social — he wants to be where the fun is
⚡ What I’m Working On: 📈 Completing housetraining. He’s got the daily routine down, and is learning the next steps
🪢 Learning leash manners — he loves walks, and sometimes carries the leash himself!
🏁 Starting to learn home manners
🐱 Learning that cats don’t always want to play – he’s too curious and playful for most cats
If you’re looking for a cheerful, cuddly companion who’ll bring energy and affection to every day, Nicaragua is ready to make some memories with you! 🐶❤️ If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a meet-and-greet please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.
Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.
HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.
We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
