Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mars 🐾✨
Mars is a handsome, big-hearted boy with a beautiful, shiny black coat and an even brighter personality. He’s sweet, friendly, and full of life, always ready to make new friends—both human and canine. Mars does wonderfully with other dogs and truly thrives on playtime, whether that’s romping around the yard or enjoying an active walk.
Because he’s strong and energetic, Mars would love an active home that can keep up with his zest for life. He’s the kind of dog who will happily join you on adventures and then fill your home with joy and laughter afterward.
Mars has a natural way of lighting up every space he’s in—with his playful spirit, loving nature, and striking good looks. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings fun, warmth, and excitement into your life, Mars might just be your perfect match ❤️
Ready to meet your new best friend? Mars can’t wait to meet you.

The AWL is here to find the best match possible between adopters and the animals in our care. Keep in mind that a pet’s personality is way more important, and it’s best to try to find a pet that will fit into your lifestyle.

More about this shelter
The Animal Welfare League is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for animal protection and welfare. We are based in Port Charlotte, Florida. Since 1963 our shelter has served the Charlotte County community by providing a temporary home, medical service and caring attention for many dogs, cats and other animals. These animals come to us as strays, pets given up by their owners, unfortunate animals rescued from abuse and neglect, or simply lost pets in need of being re-united with their families.
