Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PUPPY: Porkchop ~~ Neutered Male, PitBull/Staffy Mix, Blue and White, DOB: 5/26/2025, Microchipped, 29 pounds
ABOUT ME: Porkchop was found in Cherokee County on the side of the road and taken in for the night and cared for by a Crabapple Knoll employee. No one has come forward to claim him, which is absolutely astounding because he is a perfect and gorgeous puppy! This little dynamo has a heart of gold, beautiful golden eyes and a personality to match. He is friendly, energetic, healthy, affectionate, loving, sweet and social. Everything that you would want in a puppy and MORE!
Porkchop requests his own fenced backyard to run around and play in and does very well on the leash. He enjoys walks and would make an excellent walking or hiking partner! Porkchop is curious about everything and everyone he meets and will need some basic training to bring out the best in him. He does tend to jump up in excitement but is a smart little guy and should be easily trainable with some time and effort put into him. Porkchop does very well in the car and would love to accompany you on your errands and adventures.
Porkchop should do well in any active, loving household and requests to live indoors only. Comfy beds, yummy food and treats and lots of pets are at the top of Porkchop’s Holiday Wish List.
MEDICAL: Porkchop is healthy, has begun his vaccines & vet services, and has been dewormed. He was recently neutered and microchipped. Any additional vaccines are not included in his adoption fee and are the sole financial responsibility of his new family.
Porkchop’s adoption fee is $145 and includes one month of Simparica Trio to go home (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites). Porkchop should remain on heartworm and flea/tick prevention for life to keep him happy and healthy.
If you have space in your heart and home for an exceptional boy, come and meet Porkchop today and see if he is your perfect match! Take this little sweetheart home for the holidays and make his dreams come true!

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

More about this rescue
Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
