My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Rhyme was brought in by a community member.

Why Rhyme might be the one for you:
There is simply no rhyme or reason that this Rhyme should not be in someone's home being a very important family member. This Rhyme is gorgeous with her black brindle coat and fancy white vest. Rhyme will likely be true to her type, which means she will be very loyal to her family, she will be confident and very smart. She may start off shy as she checks out her new family but as soon as she knows that she is part of the family, she will be affectionate and oh, so protective of them. She is the epitome of a family dog. Being both big and smart, she will want lots of physical and mental stimulation. She will respond best to positive reinforcement training and we can help you with that. She will want to hear lots of "good girl" and she will remember what she did to hear those magic words. Do you want a smart, loyal and obedient dog to love and protect you and your family? Who wouldn't? If so, come and meet gorgeous Rhyme and we think she will give you a reason to take her home. Bring a strong collar and leash.

At SDHS:
Rhyme has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Rhyme is now ready for hernew home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
