My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joy!
Introducing Joy, a resilient 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who has shown incredible strength and love despite a rough start. Pulled from a shelter and malnourished, Joy is now thriving and sharing her gentle heart with her three black “Christmas” pups. Now that her puppies have found their families, it’s her turn to be someone’s baby!

Loving Once She Trusts
Joy can be a little shy at first, but with a patient, loving, and consistent home, she blossoms into a loyal velcro dog who loves being close to her people. She’s potty and leash trained, knows a few commands, and enjoys walks, yard time, and playing outside—but also loves winding down with belly rubs and cuddles. She enjoys her own space but can get along with other dogs when introduced properly.

Mama and Adventure Lover
Joy is a caring, devoted mama and a sweet companion who enjoys life and adventures. She’s great with children, loves car rides, and would do well in a calm, patient home where she can feel secure and get the outdoor time she needs.

Not Good with Cats
Joy would do best in a home without cats.

Ready for a Patient, Loving Home
Joy is looking for a family who can give her the time and trust she needs to feel secure. Her gentle, loving nature, once earned, makes her a truly special companion for a family or someone who wants a devoted, affectionate dog.

If Joy’s story touches your heart, come meet her! She’s ready to bring love, care, and joy to her forever home

More about this rescue

The Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.
