My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mistletoe (A564193)
Mistletoe arrived as a stray, and somehow this gentle girl has managed to stay soft, sweet, and hopeful despite everything around her. While she sits quietly in adoption surrounded by a chorus of barking dogs, Mistletoe never joins the noise. Instead, she calmly walks up to the front of her kennel, plops her butt down, and waits. Maybe for a treat. Maybe for a kind word. Maybe for someone to notice her and give her a little love.

She is absolutely gorgeous, with the sweetest face and the most patient soul. Mistletoe does wonderfully with other dogs and handles even the most annoying antics with grace and calm. Truly the patience of a saint. With people, she is affectionate, gentle, and so eager for connection. Once she is out of her kennel, her loving personality shines through and you can tell she just wants to be close to you.

Mistletoe is one of those dogs who does not demand attention but deserves every bit of it. Quiet, kind, beautiful, and full of love to give, she is ready for a home where she does not have to wait behind kennel bars for affection.

If you are looking for a sweet, steady companion who will melt right into your heart, Mistletoe is waiting for you

Mistletoe is guesstimated to be 2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.

Ready to meet Mistletoe? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find her in kennel D28. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting an animal: 1) Write down the Animal ID # . 2) Make sure to mention Animal ID # when visiting or calling. 3) Remember all adoptions stop 30 minutes prior to closing time. 3) You will not be allowed to place a hold on the animal. 4) It cannot be shipped to you. 5) Before adopting it, you can spend time with the animal outside or in a "meet and greet" room. Please ask for assistance. 6) We take cash, checks, debit cards, VISA and Mastercard as a method of payment. **IMPORTANT: Huntsville Animal Services cannot guarantee that any animal will still be available for adoption as we do not hold animals for anyone under any circumstances. Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. You may want to call and ask if one is still available prior to visiting the shelter. When you adopt a pet, it will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where it will be spayed or neutered before going to its new home. If it is already spayed or neutered, it can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
ADOPTION FEES
Cats seven months and older are currently $35 that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Kittens six months and younger are $50.

Dogs seven months and older are currently $35 and includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Puppie six months and younger are $50. Prices are subject to change.

LICENSE FEES
$35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee

Fees change if the animal comes into the shelter with proof of current rabies vaccination, current city license, and/or proof of spay/neuter. If the animal has been spayed or neutered there is no spay/neuter fee.
Adopting parties must have proof of identification. They must be 19 years of age or older. They must not be intoxicated. The adoption process takes approximately 30 minutes for the paperwork. Please allow ample time to look for the pet of your dreams, visit with it, and do all appropriate paperwork. We do not suggest adoptions for a gift. If you desire to give the gift of a new pet, bring that person with you and allow them to pick out their new family member.
