Mary Puppins has had such a beautiful transformation in her year as a foster dog with Dark Horse Dogs.
Found on the streets of Chicago with a limp back in the summer of 2024, Mary has rocked two leg surgeries in the last year and is medically ready to start looking for her forever family.
Mary is crate trained, potty trained and passed a basic level dog obedience class in summer 2025. She currently lives with 3 large dogs who have been helping her develop her social skills.
Mary needs slow intros with any new dogs and would likely do best with a chill brother or as an only dog in her forever home. She is very affectionate and will happily snuggle on the couch with you binging Netflix. She is very trainable with treats and thrives with positive reinforcement and a regular routine. Mary knows sit, down, tunnel and has mastered multiple interactive treat toys.
She is currently working with her fosters on loose leash walking and would benefit from a family who would continue her training. Mary is a medium energy dog and would love a backyard to run around in and a family who enjoys hiking and going for walks.
