My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Almost eight years ago, Diesel was a part of the massive hoarding case in Hebron, MD where authorities arriving at the scene witnessed 25 deceased horses and 100 others still living in squalid conditions.

This sweet, old man was one of those 100, and was quickly rehomed by a nearby woman in Keller, Virginia. He had several happy years there until her recent passing this past summer.

Now Diesel has found himself with an intermediate owner who cannot care for him longterm and is struggling to find enough resources to provide for his care. His need for rehoming is critical.

Diesel is reported to be a big ham, and enjoys attention. He was trained as a western pleasure horse, but is in need of both farrier and vet care before he can be assessed for riding at this time.

Diesel is fearful of farriers and will require sedation to be worked on. His owner is looking for an experienced horse owner who can help him get back on track and never have to relive any of his earlier trauma.

Diesel’s Details:
Age: ~20yo
Height: 15.1 hh
Type: Grade
Suitability: Companion Only
