My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cupid, a calm big boy with plenty of zest for life. He's around 10ish years old, very single, and very ready to mingle. This senior diabetic fellow is looking for a forever family to help keep his health well managed, alongside enjoying all of his shenanigans. In the home Cupid is a social butterfly! He does not let his diabetes define him, either—his diabetes care is just one little piece of his robust daily routine of napping on the sofa, saying hello to visitors in the home, purring for any and all pets, laying his paw on his favorite people to ask for attention, sitting on the crinkliest paper he can find, and at the end of the day curling up in bed with his people for sleepy time. Cupid's favorite activity is getting brushed—when a human finishes brushing him he likes them to leave his brush on the ground so he can rub his face against it. Words frequently used to describe Cupid include (but are not limited to): playful, quiet, glorious, cuddly, affectionate, hunk, calm, friendly, curious, and magnificent.

Since his blood sugar levels have been brought under control at his foster mom’s house, Cupid has really blossomed. He has become playful and youthful- acting like a youngster regardless of his senior status! He loves to stand on the 2nd floor landing at his foster mom’s and playfully bat at people going down the stairs through the railings. His coat is smooth and sleek and his eyes are bright. When he wants attention or affection he will tap you with his paw or get up close and head-butt your face. He loves people, even strangers, and can usually be found sitting quietly in the middle of the action wherever humans are gathered. Cupid doesn’t mind other cats or well-behaved dogs.

To treat his diabetes, Cupid gets twice daily insulin injections and takes them like a champ—barely notices them! His blood sugar and weight are controlled by a low-carbohydrate diet (Friskies pate) that he happily eats. Cupid tested negative for FIV/FeLV and he is cat-friendly.

Cupid is a Care Package kitty! This means he can go home with 3 months' worth of his medication!
