My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cuddly senior with the loudest purrs you've ever heard!

If you are looking for a big sweetie who just wants to cuddle you and purr in your lap all day long, look no further! Pound Cake is a senior cat who loves to chill out next to you, in your lap, on the couch, on a pillow, in a cat bed, in YOUR bed, in a warm sun spot on the floor — whatever works! He can be a tiny bit nervous at first when meeting new people, but if you give him a little adjustment time, he is a total love bug. All he wants is to be your little spoon and get plenty of head scratches. Plus he's got the fluffiest fur and the loudest purr this side of the Schuylkill. (Seriously, when he's comfy and cozy he sounds like a car engine — in the cutest way!)

Pound Cake just finished recovering from eye surgery and dental surgery. But now he's all healed up from both surgeries, freshly out of his cone, off his meds, and ready to party! Pound Cake is also a little overweight at 14-15 pounds, so he's on a bit of a diet. Once his weight is under control, he should be totally set to live out his golden years healthy and happy with you in his forever home.

Pound Cake would do best monopolizing all your attention, in a home without other cats or at least in his own space — he's got his own room right now in a house with other cats and loves that setup. We haven't tried having him around children or dogs, but expect they would stress him out a bit too.

If you want to help a sweetie older cat find peace, security, and love in the second half of his life, Pound Cake is your guy.
