My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lea, a stunning grey tabby sweetheart. Lea is a shy, sensitive girl who is looking for someone who understands that not every cat feels safe right away. New environments, quick movements and unfamiliar people can easily startle her, so she needs an adopter who can offer a calm, predictable and mellow home. She has no experience with other animals or young children and due to her gentle nature, slow introductions and a quiet space to decompress are essential for her well being. Lea prefers to take her time observing from a safe spot before deciding to trust someone. But once she realizes she’s in a patient, loving environment, she begins to show her true charm and little moments of bravery that grow more frequent each day. With the right person, she will continue to blossom, gaining confidence and forming a strong, meaningful bond built on trust. She would thrive with an adopter who has some cat knowledge, especially someone who appreciates the beauty of a shy cat learning to open up. Lea doesn’t ask for much, just a peaceful home, gentle voices, slow movements, and someone who believes in her. Please consider giving this lovely girl the chance to feel safe, loved, and truly at home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.

When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.

If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
