My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just like his namesake from How to Train Your Dragon, Toothless is a sweet, sensitive soul who needs a patient human to help his true personality take flight. This handsome boy may look a little timid now - he's very shy in the Centre and often appears shut down - but beneath that uncertainty is a loyal companion waiting to bond deeply with someone he trusts.

Toothless isn't mean at all; he's simply scared. New places and new people can feel overwhelming for him, so he'll need a calm, quiet home that understands the magic of slow beginnings. Give him time, gentle encouragement, and a predictable routine, and you'll start to see the shy little dragon peek out from behind his wings. He LOVES head butting you and making biscuits!

Because Toothless has no teeth, he'll need soft food and a bit of extra care - but don't worry, it doesn't slow him down one bit. Like the dragon we all know and love, he's uniquely shaped but perfectly capable.

One thing that really helps Toothless shine is the presence of another confident, friendly cat. A feline companion could act as his trusted friend, showing him that the world is safe and helping him come out of his shell.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
