My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Phoebe, Your Future Velcro Friend!

Age: 2.5 years | Breed: Maltese

Phoebe is a gentle, affectionate little soul who just wants to find her person, the one she can stick to like Velcro all day and night! She has had a tough start and can be fearful in new situations, so she is looking for a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and loved.

Once Phoebe feels secure, her sweet personality shines through. She is incredibly loving and will happily be your shadow, offering endless cuddles and companionship.

Phoebe's Ideal Home:

A peaceful environment where she does not have to feel fearful. Likely no young children as she appreciates predictability. She would probably do well with other dogs, especially with proper introductions.

Health Note: Pheobe will need a dental surgery within the next six months, so her adopter should be prepared to provide her with this care.

Phoebe is ready to give her whole heart to the right person. If you are looking for a devoted little friend who will never leave your side, Phoebe might be the one for you!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
