My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sorcha is a stunning 8-month-old puppy who is a Belgian Malinois mix. She is an “old soul” in a playful puppy body, blending youthful energy with remarkable composure, intelligence, and curiosity. Sorcha is a unique gem, a rare unicorn who is as adventurous and playful as she is affectionate and loving.

Personality & Temperament

Sorcha is confident, gentle, and affectionate. She actively seeks out attention, leaning in to have her entire body petted, clearly enjoying affection from people she trusts. She is submissive, sweet-hearted, and social with other dogs of all sizes and sexes. Slow, supervised introductions are recommended with new dogs to ensure positive experiences.

Sorcha is playful and adventurous—she loves to run, dig, chase balls, play tug-of-war, and conquer obstacle courses with enthusiasm. She is food-motivated, intelligent, and eager to please, making her highly trainable and ideal for positive reinforcement training. She is gentle and patient, likely to be careful around children (best suited for age 10+ unless Malinois-savvy), and enjoys the company of other dogs. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Sorcha is a medium drive dog with a good off switch.

Handling & Independence

Sorcha is calm and confident when left alone in her kennel or in the office with staff—she does not bark, growl, or whine, demonstrating excellent comfort and confidence with being crated. She is resilient and adaptable, even in busy, high-traffic environments, and responds well to positive guidance.

She is highly tolerant of touch and thoroughly enjoys being handled. She welcomes gentle stroking and allows handling of her tail, body, paws, legs, ears, snout, and belly without hesitation. She remains relaxed, engaged, and affectionate throughout.

Training & Activities

Sorcha is intelligent, curious, and highly trainable. She quickly learned basic commands like “sit” and responds well to positive reinforcement. Her playful, energetic, and adventurous spirit makes her an excellent candidate for activities such as Barn Hunt, scent work, obstacle courses.

Adoption Considerations

Sorcha will thrive in a patient, positive, reward-based environment where her socialization and training can continue. She would do best in a home with another dog, enjoys children age 10+ (or Malinois-savvy kids), and will bond deeply with her family. She is gentle, affectionate, and playful—a true loyal companion who will enrich the lives of her adopters.
