My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beau Duke!

A charming one-and-a-half-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix currently in Cullowhee, NC, whose essence is pure heart wrapped in a warm red coat with dashing white accents. Weighing in at 75 pounds of affection and loyalty, Beau Duke is the definition of a gentle giant. Playful, loving, and always ready for a cuddle!

Beau is a devoted companion who thrives when he's close to his people. His favorite place? Right beside you, preferably snuggled on the couch or even tucked in bed at night. He’s got a special knack for turning ordinary moments into warm, tail-wagging joy! While he’s still learning the ins and outs of living indoors, he only recently discovered the cozy joys of home life, he’s already house-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and knows sit, down, and shake like a pro.

Though he didn’t grow up in a traditional household, Beau’s resilience and gentle nature shine. Some loud or sudden household sounds can still catch him off guard, but with a little patience and reassurance, he’s learning quickly. He hasn't had formal training yet, but his eagerness to please and natural smarts make him an excellent candidate for positive reinforcement and training classes.

Beau gets along beautifully with female dogs and has peacefully coexisted with a cat in his foster home. He’s also done well around kids aged five and up, although his enthusiastic hops might be a bit much for toddlers. Because the dominant male dog in his current home isn’t giving him the space he needs, Beau would do best in a home without other dominant males either as your one-and-only or with compatible, easygoing companions.

Once left outside much of the time, Beau now clings to the comfort of family, returning quickly the one time he did wander. His big heart, soulful eyes, and endless capacity for affection make him a truly unforgettable friend!

Are you ready to bring home a dog who will shower you with cuddles, loyalty, and love every single day? Beau Duke can’t wait to meet his new family!
