My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET, GENTLE & VERY SHY:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 40 lbs.

Hi there, my name is Harry! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and while I’m shy and still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place, I’m looking forward to growing my confidence every day.  With patience, kindness, and gentle encouragement, I know I’ll blossom into a wonderful companion who’s ready to trust, love, and share my heart with a family of my own.  I’ve gone into the prison/foster training program off-site so I can work on my confidence as well as learn a lot from the trainers there!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and did well, though I wasn’t quite ready to play with them.  Also, I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  Also, I’d likely do best with calm-natured kids.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a gentle soul who’s still learning that new sounds and unfamiliar situations don’t have to be so scary.  I can be quite shy at first, often keeping my tail tucked and watching the world with a worried look, but please know there hasn’t been any aggression in me - just a sensitive heart that’s always on alert.  Even when I’m nervous and shaking, I try my very best to trust, whether it’s during bath time or even while having my nails trimmed.  With patience and kindness, I begin to warm up, and once I do, my sweet, friendly, and handsome personality starts to shine through.  I’m a delightful boy who just needs a little time, a quiet home and reassurance to feel safe and hopeful about the loving life ahead of me. / Energy Level: 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  So far, I know the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more in the prison/foster training program. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had good potty manners on the Mostly Mutts schedule.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like nice, gentle and calm people and I’m sure we’ll learn lots of other things we’ll like doing together as I settle in my new home. / I haven’t been the biggest fan of being outside and cars driving by after dark are scary to me.  I have lots of fears, but I’m working on them and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I’m looking for a loving, calm type of family and home in which I can blossom and know that I’m loved. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
