Meet the Pet
This helps Poodle and Pooch Rescue with pet care costs.
Hi, I’m Sam Handwich! I’m a 2-year-old Terrier blend who weighs 38 pounds and, just like my name, I’m guaranteed to fill you up! I’m a certified cuddle bug and my favorite place in the world is right by your side. In fact, I’m known to be a bit vocal if I can’t be with you.
Favorite Things: True to his name, Sam Handwich loves food. He also has a blast with toys and especially loves chasing a ball, though he’ll need some work on bringing it back to you! This little extrovert really enjoys being in the thick of things and is happiest being around other dogs and people of all ages and sizes.
Training & Manners: Sam is house-trained when let out frequently and is learning general manners. He’s food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training that much easier. He loves a car ride, walks well on a leash, and sleeps soundly in the people bed at night.
Health & Care: This handsome boy is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. He’ll just need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Regular baths and nail clippings will keep this guy looking and feeling his best.
Other Animals: Sam gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t had experience with cats yet, but his foster family thinks he’ll do fine.
Children: This sweet guy is good with children of all ages!
Ideal Home: Sam would do best in a single-family home given his tendency to be vocal when away from his people. Aside from vocalizing, he can be left alone in the home in a secure place for a few hours without issues.
Overall: If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate social butterfly, Sam Handwich might be the one for you. If you think he might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $425.
